I love origami, especially since it’s the only type of art that I can actually do well. I started folding in elementary school  for a school project, but then I stopped folding until high school. Since then, I’ve been making various origami pieces for about eight years. Usually I make models based off of other artists’ diagrams, although I have two original models  a boat and a loch ness monster (both are on my DeviantART). I’m still learning a lot about folding and different techniques, so if there is something that I cannot fold, be patient.
I like all types of styles, from simple models (such as the crane) to challenging models. However, I think one of my favorite things to fold is flowers. My greatest enjoyment from creating flowers is the variability of display methods. I also have been trying to experiment with different ways to display my origami. I’ve been doing this for two reasons, firstly, to help preserve the paper. Since my models have been become much more advanced and complex I wish to be able to preserve them for longer periods of time. Also, I find that different ways of displaying models improves the aesthetics of the models themselves.
